Tellico Trout Fest

It’s here! Tellico Trout Fest is the “public debut” for J & H Supply Co. The J & H spinners have been moving so fast at Little River Outfitters, our first retailer and some of our favorite people, that we have hardly been able to keep up. This is how we knew we were onto something for a small business. I have always been intrigued by spinners. I even made my own bass spinnerbaits after watching my dad do it for years. But the small inline spinners like Rooster Tails, Panther Martins, and Joe’s Flies have always caught my attention. I knew a long time ago I could tie a better fly since I was on a smaller scale and more detail-oriented. What I didn’t know much about was the spinner building for inlines.

Over the lockdown for COVID I decided to experiment. Once things opened back up, I took my samples to Little River Outfitters and it was game on. the more things have opened up, the harder it has been to keep up with demand. On top of enjoying working with the business side of things, it has also been extremely rewarding making a product specifically for the mountain trout I grew up chasing.

That is where Tellico Trout Fest comes into play. It is time to get out and meet folks and hopefully get them on some fish with flies that have been getting others on fish for years and years. With any luck, our product will in fact be a staple item in fly and tackle boxes for years to come. Maybe we even become part of somebody’s trout tale that inspires a son, daughter or grandkid to continue the mountain trout tradition. Tellico Trout Fest, here we come.
